About

Born in Porto, Portugal, Nuno Monteiro entered the local music scene at the age of 13. His musical journey started with local bands, studying Classical guitar, and then a star-studded formal education which focused on Flamenco guitar. During college, he embarked on the next phase of his journey, performing with many of the top artists in both Portugal and Spain. He recorded and toured with Portuguese singer José Alberto Reis.

Next, he continued his studies earning a degree in Flamenco guitar from Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona. During this time, he played concert halls, casinos, and local clubs, including a six-year stint with the Corleone Big Band, followed by touring and recording with a long list of top musicians including famed Flamenco guitarist Manuel Granados and Portuguese singer José Alberto Reis.

In 2007, Nuno joined “Mamma Mia” the musical in Barcelona, then toured with the show, covering 40 Spanish cities, performing for more than 2 million people at over a thousand shows.
The theatre engagement pointed his career to Princess Cruises as a house band musician, collaborating with dozens of headliners. Part of his cruises work included Jazz sets, Solo sets and Big Band sets. His travels have taken Nuno to 53 different countries so far.

Nuno is a very versatile musician; he plays and loves many different genres and his first love is still the style he cut his teeth on: Rock.
