John Earl was born & raised in Texas where he learned the blues from an early age by singing and playing harp along with his fellow workers while detailing used cars. With an AM radio playing for hours-and-hours every day John Earl was immersed in the blues of Muddy Waters, Howlin’Wolf, Lil’ Walter, John Lee Hooker, and Lightnin’Hopkins, singing his heart out day after day. John Earl was marked for life!
John Earl toured the USA playing juke joints from ’65 till 74′ with the likes of ‘Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels’ and ‘Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs’ and then spent the next 12 years living in Europe and playing the Continent and the U.K. with the USO and friends such as ‘Commander Cody & The Lost Planet Airmen’, ‘Asleep at the Wheel’ and ‘Doctor Hook’s Medicine Show’!
John Earl moved to Las Vegas in the 80s and formed ‘The Boogieman Band’ in 1988. John Earl and the Boogieman band have over 200 years combined experience performing at major events, concerts, festivals and casinos across the USA and around the world!
Having performed across the United Kingdom & Europe and the USA from Maine to California, John Earl and the Boogieman Band are equally at home entertaining Royalty to Roughnecks, Bikers to Bankers alike!
