About

Steve Perry and Neal Shon Revisited
– Performing all the 70’s and 80’s Greatest Hits And their most successful deep cuts.

Voted TOP PRO JOURNEY TRIBUTE, these 5 talented musicians that together truly bring you the best version of a Journey tribute with their top-notch talent, image and high-energy stage performance. Unlike many other Journey tribute bands, ESCAPE is 100% LIVE, with NO BACKING TRACKS or ‘sweeteners’ of any kind. This is possible because four of the members have extensive experience as lead singers in other bands and spend countless hours perfecting their trademark four-part harmony blend. ESCAPE has performed all over North America including over 30 states in the USA to sold-out crowds and multiple encores for over 25 years! The band has opened for America, Europe, Firefall Dokken, Skid Row, Jackyl and Survivor among others. They’ve performed backing tracks for TV shows, and even played on Entertainment Tonight (ET).

ESCAPE THE JOURNEY TRIBUTE is the original authentic tribute to Journey founded by STU SIMONE, who has played with the singers of Foreigner, Journey, Survivor, Love Hate, Toto, Great White, Bullet Boys, Yngwie Malmsteen, XYZ, Michael Schenker Group, Montrose, and The Sweet.

The band members have all extensive music careers, and each has formally performed with present or former members of Journey, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Dokken, Dio, Rainbow, The Seeds, Y&T, Skid Row, Warrant, Great White, Rocklahoma, Night Ranger, and many more.

Vocalist extraordinaire CHAD SMITH has the look and the sound of Steve Perry with extraordinary attention to detail and takes us all back in time to those special songs from Journey that we all fell in love with from the good ole days. Chad takes his craft extremely seriously, warming up for hours before each show, but the results speak for themselves as he sings every high note every time, even in multiple-set evenings.

JEFF ELLIS, winner of Best Rock Guitarist by LA Music Awards and All Access Magazine and singer/writer/guitarist of The Cauze. Fans are in awe of his showmanship on stage, tone, playing Neal Schon note for note and wowing the crowd always. Jeff also is a fantastic singer and brings us back to the Gregg Rolie days as he belts out favorites such as “Anytime” and “Feeling That Way”. One of the highlights of every ESCAPE show is Jeff’s jaw-dropping rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”, a guitar solo that Journey has also been known to perform.

GARY PONDER on drums hails from “Detroit, Rock City” and is also a founding member of the band. He and Stu have played in many original and tribute bands together over the years. Gary is an amazingly versatile drummer and percussionist, with the ability to play drums and percussion at the same time! His credits include stints with Gary Wright, Maureen McCormick and Chris Squire of Yes. Not only does Gary have that extra flair when hitting his drums, he’s also right on time with his famous wit.

JP MICHAELS on bass and vocals from Las Vegas Nevada is also a well-established musician and singer, having been the lead singer and bassist for Polydor Records Rock artists Rubicon. He was also the lead singer of KAOS and bassist for Vinyl Tattoo and several top tribute bands, and a variety of studio sessions in the Las Vegas area. JP also owns a recording studio in Vegas that many other tribute bands and original artists have recorded in.
